Aim: This programme will help learners acquire the knowledge and develop necessary skills such as management, communication and confidence in dealing with a variety of challenging situations and work practices.
Participant Profile:Course is suitable for those who require a formal qualification and skills to work in a management/supervisory role.
6 days (1 day per week) in a classroom setting. Learners will be required to complete work outside of class time.

Some learning outcomes of the component include:
- Evaluate the necessary principles, practice, key concepts and different approaches using the appropriate leadership styles as well as analysing key skills in a range of public, private and voluntary environments.
- Recall relevant employment and health and safety legislation such as the nine grounds for equality and data protection as well as explaining the role of the supervisor in establishing, maintaining and continuously improving standards and quality in an organisation and identifying how they can act as role model while developing strategies for overcoming barriers by recognising common challenges and problems when working with individuals and teams and identifying possible resolutions using a variety of problem solving methods
- Design an operational work plan or project for a fixed period to include short and medium term objectives that are consistent with the organisations overall objectives, policies and requirements while utilising appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools
Learners will receive assignment briefs and guidelines on completing these assessments.
