Course Information:

Aim: Palliative Care training teaches employees the WHO principles of Palliative Care and how to care for clients when death is imminent and other members of the clients family.

Participant Profile: Course is suitable for healthcare and workers

Classroom – 5 days (usually 1 day per week) in a classroom setting. Learners will be required to complete work outside of class time


Online  – Commence at a time suits you and work at your own pace. Full tutor support available throughout.

Duration: Online Training

Programme Outcomes:

Learners will cover the following:

  1. Defining Palliative Care
  2. WHO principles of Palliative Care
  3. Factors Influencing Attitudes around end of life
  4. Special Needs of a dying resident
  5. Stages of Grief
  6. Signs of Approaching Death
  7. Physical needs of the dying person, care, positioning and pain management and emotional needs


Entry Requirement: Strong interest or working in providing quality care in a healthcare setting. A strong level of spoken and written English required.
Tutor Profile: All tutors are highly qualified and experienced Healthcare experts.
Support: A range of accommodations and supports are available according to specific learner needs. One to one support is available from tutors on the course
Resources: Learners receive a comprehensive resource pack that can be used as a reference during and after the course.

    I have a FETAC L5 in Palliative Care done since 2003/2004 would this be a different module or the same one.

    Hi I’m just wondering if you book the palliative care course online will you need to do a practical exam somewhere too thanks
