Aim: The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence gained in the 3 day Occupational First Aid/First Aid Response course in compliance with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 and the associated Guide to these Regulations.
Participant Profile: To keep up to date, a refresher needs to be completed every 2 years.
Duration: 3 days in a classroom setting
The learning outcomes are to equip the learners to enable them to provide aid in the following situations:
1. Well-being of the first aider
2. Patient assessment
3. Incident Procedure
4. Cardiac First Response
5. Common medical Emergencies
6. Care of an unconscious patient
7. Burns and Electrical injury
8. Hypothermia & hyperthermia
