Course Information:

This diploma in Epilepsy awareness management teaches employees what epilepsy is and what the causes are. The training also includes the treatment of a person with epilepsy and the different types of seizures that can occur and what to do when someone has a seizure.
Participant Profile:
Course is suitable for healthcare and childcare workers
1 full day training in a classroom setting.

Programme Outcomes:

Learners will cover the following:

  • What is epilepsy and the causes of it.
    Treatment of epilepsy.
  •  Types of seizures and common triggers.
  •  What to do when someone has a seizure.
  • Administration of medication for seizures.
  •  Using Buccolam oral syringes and understanding its side effects

Entry Requirement:Strong interest or working in providing quality care in a healthcare or childcare setting. A strong level of spoken and written English required.
